Novarossi Toro Nero .21T 7 Port Extra Long Stroke Off-Road Buggy Engine
Novarossi, always working on improving their products and staying ahead of the competition, has released the Toro Nero .21 Off-Road, 7 Port, Extra Long Stroke, Turbo Plug, Competition Buggy Engine. This is the most powerful Novarossi Off-road engine made to date, with a temperament comparable to that of a raging Black Bull.
The Toro Nero features a patented 7 port sleeve with a unique stroke/bore. With this extra long stroke the Toro Nero has plenty of low end power, while the 7 transfer ports keep the engine pulling, even at high RPM. The patented sleeve also incorporates the well proven exhaust booster ports to increase efficiency.
Another key feature of the Toro Nero is its Turbo SG type crankshaft. The Turbo technology improves the mixture of Fuel/Air inside the crankcase, while the overall shape of the crankshaft helps dispatching the fuel/air mixture even further. The Tungsten counterweight inside the crankshaft reduces the harmonic vibrations while improving performance and reliability.
Last but not least is the cooling head. At first glance this part does not look special, but the cooling head features a raised ring on the most upper cooling fin which protect's the laser engraving in the harsh conditions of Off-road racing. Unlike On-road competition engines, the cooling heads of Off-road competition engines do not catch as much cooling wind to keep their operating tempratures down. For this reason Novarossi uses a oversized cooling head to keep the operating tempratures of the Toro Nero within acceptable limits. The total mass of the Toro Nero's cooling head has been reduced by drilling holes in the cooling fins in strategic locations, by doing so Novarossi reduced the mass while at the same time protecting the cooling ability.

Crankshaft: The crankshaft has a special shape to reduce turbulences inside the crankcase. The front part was extended to improve the seal against fuel leaking.
Sleeve: The sleeve has 7 transfer ports and an exhaust with booster ports. The special shape and positioning of the ports, covered by a patent, improve the internal fluid-dynamics to obtain the maximum possible performance.
Combustion chamber: The combustion chamber is supported by an O-Ring which is placed between the combustion chamber and the crankcase to reduce the vibrations of the combustion chamber.
Rear ball bearing: The outer diameter of the rear ballbearing is increased to 26mm, this improves the strength and lifespan of the ball bearing.
